In each of these virtual writing sessions, Allan sets the creative environment with essential teaching about writing close to your lived experience. Students write and revise sentences individually but in the motivating company of fellow writers at work. Whether you’re holding a promising idea or have yet to think about your essay, the core starter lesson, structured writing “spells,” and focused community will move you forward.
THE WORKSHOP HOUR:
1 JUMPSTART LESSON
Allan launches the session with a core lesson on writing from experience.
2 TWO GUIDED WRITING BLOCKS
Structured writing stints — to write and then to revise — prompt individual progress.
3 REGROUP
We end in community, with discussion of discoveries and next steps.
